Café utility survey in Greater Manchester
Café site, Greater Manchester
The challenge
The client needed the underground utilities beneath and around a café site identified clearly, to work safely and stay compliant ahead of planned works.
Our solution
We obtained statutory records before going on site, then surveyed using both electromagnetic detection and ground penetrating radar: a tight one metre closed centre grid across the café's footprint for maximum precision, widening to a five metre grid across the surrounding area.
The outcome
A detailed report documented every apparatus found, flagged any anomalies, and noted the small number of areas where an ideal result could not be obtained, giving the client a realistic and usable picture of the site.
“A 1m closed centre grid was utilised across the base of the café location, to ensure this area was clear of any underground apparatus.”
